ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a Project Associate (m/f/d) to join the Policy and Advocacy Team, to work on upcoming projects and with a focus on climate projects.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: The Project Associate is responsible for helping to coordinate the work flow, financial and administrative management of projects and ensuring that agreed goals, best practice standards, donor obligations and TI-S regulations are met relating to project implementation by TI-S and partners.

Salary Band: PF1

Starting Date: as soon as possible

Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract limited for a duration of 1 year, depending on funding.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

Based in the Policy and Advocacy Team, the Project Associate will:

  • Proactively support day-to-day project implementation of projects in the Policy and Advocacy Team, with an initial focus on climate projects, ensuring consistency with TI-S processes and procedures
  • Strive for high-quality outputs and the greatest possible impact of project activities to advance the anti-corruption agenda in relevant countries
  • Work in close collaboration and ensure ongoing communication with project partners in relevant regions
  • Support project leads and partners in efforts to monitor and evaluate project/programme impact, plan advocacy interventions and communication/outreach activities, and share knowledge and experience across activities
  • Support the preparation of project outputs, including narrative/accountability reports, trainings, events, presentations, publications, communications materials, web content, etc.
  • Support financial administration of the project (monitoring budgets, contracting support, organising funding transfers, reimbursements, invoices etc.)
  • Generate ideas and develop concept notes/proposals that are aligned with organisational priorities
  • Respond to requests for information, researching in order to provide sufficient responses or escalating where needed
  • Carry out desk research on specific topics to provide input supporting the development of new proposals, concept notes, briefing notes, reports, etc.
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the team by providing proactive and ad hoc support where necessary

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • University degree in social sciences, administration, journalism, economics, management, or another relevant field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience - preferably with an International NGO or International Organisation - working on administrative support, project management or related
  • Knowledge of, or considerable interest in, the work of TI and the field, of anti-corruption; interest in climate governance advantageous
  • Demonstrated past engagement in processes that resulted in, or contributed to, positive changes in local organisations an advantage
  • Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to engage multi-stakeholders
  • Experience with donor funded projects in the civil society field an advantage
  • Familiarity with donor rules and regulations (in particular in Germany) an advantage
  • Solid understanding of budget/financial management processes (working in collaboration with Project Accountants)
  • Experience in organising major events with diverse international partners, in-person and remote
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Results orientation, resilience and tenacity with the ability to work under pressure in a collaborative setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English; additional languages an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and intercultural communication skills, particularly at distance communication
  • Commitment to the values and principles of Transparency International
