ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a Finance Associate (m/w/d) to join the Finance Team. The position will provide administrative support to the project accountants and will work on a portfolio of projects with a broad variety of tasks. We're looking for someone who is numbers-savvy with great organisational skills, initial experience in finance and bookkeeping and an interest in joining our mission stop corruption and promote transparency, accountability and integrity at all levels and across all sectors of society.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: The Finance Associate provides general administrative and coordination support in day-to-day operations within the Finance Team, working closely with the project accountants.

Team: Finance

Band:  Salary Band PF1 (Associate), starting salary €35,000 p.a.

Starting Date: as soon as possible

Contract Duration: Currently we can offer a temporary employment contract limited for a duration of 2 years. There is a prospect of extension subject to organisational need continuing, performance proven and funding confirmed and there is interest in a stable and long-term cooperation.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Based in the Finance Team, the Finance Associate will: 

  • Support the coordination of work and information flow between Finance and Project teams, ensuring process integrity 
  • Proactively support day-to-day finance and administration operations; ensure consistency with TI-S processes and procedures
  • Ensure financial and MEL information received from project partners is accurate and complies with donor regulations
  • Ensure processes are up-to-date and meet the needs of the team, suggest improvements where necessary 
  • Contribute to team-related projects, carry out desk research and provide input into the development and implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures in line with best practice  
  • Support organisational travel arrangements where necessary 
  • Support information management for the team, including maintaining up to date, organized and accurate filing systems  
  • Respond to requests for information, researching in order to provide sufficient responses or escalating where needed  
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the team by providing proactive and ad hoc support where necessary

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • Completed qualification (e.g. apprenticeship, vocational education, undergraduate degree) in a relevant field
  • 2+ years of professional experience in finance, administration and related tasks 
  • Experience with international organisations and multi-cultural work environments an advantage 
  • Professional language proficiency (written and spoken) in English (working language of the organisation) required, other languages, especially French, Spanish and Arabic, an advantage
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks across a wide range of issues and ability to work effectively under pressure 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners, service providers and other institutions
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (in particular Excel) 
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Commitment to the values and principles of Transparency International
