ABOUT THE ROLE

Transparency International is seeking a highly driven, experienced Strategy Manager (m/f/d) to lead TI’s strategic planning and oversee strategy implementation at the Secretariat and across the Movement. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Strategy Manager will play a key role in driving an agile, rolling strategy process by strengthening strategic alignment of decision-making and collective action across the TI Movement.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: The Strategy Manager leads strategic planning, monitoring, and review processes in the TI Movement and the TI Secretariat, and oversees the operationalisation of the strategies to inform a coherent implementation from TI Secretariat project to TI Movement level.

Reporting Line: CEO

Band: PF3, salary starting at €55,650 p.a.

Starting Date: as soon as possible

Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract limited for a duration of 2 years. There is a prospect of extension subject to organizational need continuing, performance proven and funding confirmed and there is interest in a stable and long-term cooperation.

Working Hours: full time [100%; 40 hours per week]

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Based in the CEO Team and reporting to the CEO, the Strategy Manager will:

  • Oversee the operationalisation of TI strategy at the TI Secretariat and the Movement to ensure a successful, aligned, and focused implementation of the strategic plans, including the design, set-up and implementation of organisational monitoring, evaluation and learning systems to assess and drive strategy implementation performance and progress – and ultimately to inform the decision-making of the CEO and executive team
  • Support the CEO and executive team with strategic insights, foresight and analysis to enable robust strategic and operational decision making
  • Identify and and lead key organisational initiatives to strengthen strategy implementation systems and processes, and monitor progress and effect on business excellence
  • Lead collaborative strategy development, review and mainstreaming processes for the TI Movement and the International Secretariat
  • Co-chair the TI Movement’s Strategy Reference Group with the CEO to align and anchor strategy across the Movement
  • Strengthen strategic planning, alignment and operationalisation capacities and facilitate learning in the TI Secretariat and Movement
  • Build relationships and form alliances with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders to scan for innovations, trends and opportunities for collective action
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the team by providing proactive and ad hoc support where necessary


CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience working in non-profits, foundations, and/or the development/humanitarian landscape
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Extensive experience in strategy development and operationalisation, ideally within a global context
  • Experience in programme management and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
  • Multi-country work experience highly advantageous
  • Skilled at advising leadership and management teams, ideally with experience of advising boards
  • Track record of leading efficient organisational initiatives with a collaborative approach
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Very strong organisational and problem-solving skills and the ability to drive ambiguous situations towards clarity
  • High degree of adaptability and the ability to be reactive with priorities and planning
  • Strong alignment with Transparency International’s mission and values
  • Passion for the work performed by the organisation and a strong appetite for enabling and sustaining impact
