ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a campaigns coordinator to join the Communications Team. This person will be responsible for the design, management and implementation of inclusive and intersectional campaigns related to corruption and climate/the environment in close coordination with the global policy and advocacy work of the Climate Governance Integrity Programme (CGIP). As our work on these topics is expanding, we are looking to organise some of our global work around campaigning. The campaigns will involve influencing decision makers, mobilizing and activating different audiences and making use of advocacy opportunities to advance our climate governance integrity agenda. This role will closely work with TI chapters, relevant partners, government authorities, media, INGOs and NGOs, and other stakeholders.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: The Campaigns Coordinator advances TI’s global advocacy by developing and implementing inclusive and intersectional campaign strategies, plans and products in the TI movement focussing on climate/the environment. The Campaigns Coordinator engages a number of external and internal audiences and stakeholders, supporting National Chapters with campaigning tools and products to influence decision makers, mobilize and activate different audiences and take advantage of advocacy opportunities. They nurture partnerships with a range of movements, organisations, and networks and will do outreach to global institutions and other international actors through coalition building, representation and relationship building.

Salary Band: According to TI-S internal salary structure; for this position corresponding to band PF2 salary starting EUR 42,000 gross per year depending on relevant experience

Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract limited for a duration of 2 years. There is a prospect of extension subject to organizational need continuing, performance proven and funding confirmed and there is interest in a stable and long-term cooperation.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Based in the Communications Team and reporting to the Head of Communications, the Campaigns Coordinator will:

Create and implement campaign strategies with clear goals, theory of change, and timelines on climate/ environmental and corruption issues and mainstreaming inclusion, developing and implementing plans and strategies in line with global and regional priorities and strategies together with colleagues in the TI movement and working with external partners.

Deliver planned campaigning activities, resources and schedules, including coordination and timely deliverance of project budgets and reports

Assess and initiate opportunities for inclusive and intersectional campaign actions regionally and internationally, through stakeholder mapping and issue scanning, as well as through active engagement in monitoring, evaluation and learning cycles.

Create campaign materials, including social media and digital campaigning, webcontent, and commentaries, interventions, think pieces or policy working papers as necessary

Coordinate chapters’ participation in global campaigning work, coordinating internal communications and knowledge sharing, including through IT-supported communities, networks and communications

Built and sustain strategic partnerships and alliances, coordiante coallition work and work with external consultants to advance campaign objectives.

Maintain oversight of the overall financial management of specific campaigns, projects and/or initiatives

Manage, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the campaigns

Support in donor communications such as proposals, reports, and meetings.

Act as a focal point in communications; provide mentorship, input, and advice to others and stay abreast of trends, updating strategies accordingly

Represent the organization at relevant fora; design and guide the coordination of participation of partners and stakeholders; build relationships and form alliances with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders; act as liaison for specific thematic areas inside TI.

Contribute to the overall functioning of the Communications team by providing proactive and ad hoc support as needed

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

5+ years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience in international advocacy, campaigning, and communications; experience in campaigning on climate and environmental issues will be an asset.

Graduate university degree or professional qualification in social science, public policy or administration, journalism, international law, economics, management, or another relevant field

Sound knowledge and understanding of climate/ environmental governance issues, international development, development issues and international affairs; 

Experience working with international institutions and networks, civil society organisations, climate justice groups and campaign consultants/agencies

Experience in networking and building alliances.

Experience with and/or a good understanding of digital campaigning concepts, processes and tools

Experience of inclusion mainstreaming in organisational and/or theme-specific campaigning

Excellent analytical skills, with demonstrated record of strong writing and communication skills

Excellent oral and written communication in English; proficiency in other languages an asset

Strong organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure

Willingness to travel

Strong organisational skills and ability to effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Demonstrated flexibility, initiative and creativity

High level of intercultural competence, diplomacy and political sensitivity

Commitment to environmental issues and corruption is desirable
