ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) is currently seeking to hire a Grant & Reporting Manager to join our Fundraising Team. The role will provide grant management and reporting for the EC FFPA Action Grant, as well as TI impact reporting including the Annual Reporting to Core donors.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: The role is responsible for the coordination of the overall workflow with the grant key Points of Contact, and will have responsibilities for cross-team coordination, financial and administrative management, ensuring that agreed goals, best practice standards, donor obligations and TI-S regulations are met relating to project implementation by TI-S and partners. And for impact reporting across the grant and TIS core grants as well as the annual reporting, to donors including, SIDA, DANIDA, BMZ, IrelandAid and others as required.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Based in the Fundraising Team, the Grant & Reporting Manager will:

  • Coordinate overall grant implementation across teams in TI-S in line with the donor contractual requirements, logic model and work plan, including work package planning, budget management, monitoring and reporting, ensuring that all TI Points of Contact are delivering work consistent with the design and delivery schedule and internal processes and procedures, and striving for high-quality outputs and the greatest possible impact of grant activities.
  • Coordinate the overall grant management tools and processes (grant calendar, workflows, team collaboration plans, stakeholder and risk management, reporting documentation and MEL) together with relevant colleagues in other TI-S and TI teams.
  • Work in close collaboration with Global Movement to ensure ongoing communication with the TI Movement and Affiliated Entities to support successful implementation of the grant, particularly in efforts to monitor and evaluate project impact, capacity-building activities, communication/outreach activities, manage any key reputational and security risks, and promote peer learning and knowledge exchange across grant activities.
  • Deliver progress updates and risk management/escalation options to the internal TI-S board overseeing the successful implementation of the grant.
  • Coordinate the organisation of institutional meetings and events as per the project calendar and ensure their timely delivery.
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with the TI-S Finance team to keep accurate financial forecasts, including reviewing financial reports and identifying in advance areas of over- or under-spending, checking the quality and compliance of supporting documentation and flagging any urgent budgetary issues.
  • Ensure work deliverables meet quality standards and proactively seek input from relevant internal experts as needed.
  • Together with the thematic and regional specialists in the Policy and Advocacy, Research and Knowledge, Global Movement, Communications Teams, IT, Governance and Legal, as well as Fundraising, MEL and Strategy teams, collaborate on capacity building, network management and grant actions related directly or indirectly to the project, and contributing to wider impact planning, reporting and co-ordination under the relevant strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate donor(s) engagement and relationship management in relation to the project, including with delegations in the countries of implementation as required.
  • Together with the Communications, Policy and Advocacy, Projects and MEL teams, ensure high-quality impact reporting on the grant as well as on Core donor reports and Annual Report, and developing compelling impact stories from TI’s work to communicate to our (core) donors
  • Represent the grant/organisation at relevant forums and consortium meetings as needed; build relationships and form alliances with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders; contribute to external communications and media work as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the Fundraising Team by providing proactive and ad hoc support where necessary and contributing to new proposal development and team strengthening initiatives.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • University degree in business administration, management, finance, social science, public administration, economics, or another relevant field
  • 5+ years of fundraising, grant management, reporting or support experience, preferably with an International NGO or International Organisation, with demonstrated capacity to manage to deadlines, prepare and coordinate group commitments, and experience with multi-partner initiatives.
  • Knowledge of, or considerable interest in, the work of TI and the field of anti-corruption, capacity building, development, Movement Support, as well as Fundraising.
  • Experience in developing grant proposals and budgets, as well as in grant management of donor-funded projects
  • Strong skills in annual reporting including, impact reporting and attention to monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) essential, experience with MEL of capacity strengthening initiatives an advantage
  • Familiarity with complex donor rules and regulations, EC preferred, but also SIDA, DANIDA and other donors.
  • Experience of gender mainstreaming and incorporating inclusive approaches in project design, grant management and reporting
  • Demonstrable risk management experience, or willingness to develop the necessary skills to ensure successful grant level oversight.
  • Solid understanding of budget/financial management and grant compliance processes (working in collaboration with Project Accountants and Finance Associates); strong commitment and orientation to compliance and results-based management essential.
  • Strong organizational skills, structured approach to task management and ability to effectively coordinate across large implementation teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and build collaborative relationships for informal influencing for grant success.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English, with exceptional storytelling skills, able to communicate impact and achievement in compelling and accessible ways to a range of non-technical audiences
  • Good facilitation skills for online and in-person multi-stakeholder coordination meetings.
  • Flexibility to accommodate unforeseen challenges or requests at short notice.
  • Commitment to the values and principles of Transparency International.
