ABOUT THE ROLE
The Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) is currently seeking a Thematic Lead, Corrupt Money Flows (m/f/d) to join the Policy and Advocacy Team. The Policy and Advocacy Team leads on the organisation’s advocacy initiatives through the development of policy positions, representation of Transparency International at international fora and towards key stakeholders within the anti-corruption community, and cooperation with our national chapters on shared global thematic priorities. The purpose of this role is to enhance Transparency International’s ability to bring about policy change by promoting sound and evidence-based policy and advocacy to stop the flows of dirty money, advancing and delivering the Strategic Objective 2 of our Global Strategy 2030 – Holding Power to Account.
The Thematic Lead, Corrupt Money Flows (m/f/d) will provide leadership in driving Transparency International’s corrupt money flows programme and support policy development in this area of work, including on issues such as anti-money laundering, beneficial ownership transparency, enablers and illicit financial flows. The Thematic Lead will provide direction to the programme and drive its practical implementation through (a) identifying relevant gaps in terms of existing conceptual frameworks, evidence, analysis and tools in the field; (b) prioritising areas to focus on considering the potential impact, political and advocacy opportunities, added value and available resources; and (c) supporting the implementation of outputs designed to target specific audiences and advocacy objectives.
Working closely with the Campaigns Lead and the Research and Knowledge team, the Thematic Lead will support the creation of and engagement with internal and strategic external partnerships, promote peer-to-peer exchange and information-sharing, and guide the development of evidence base for policy advocacy. The Thematic Lead will also support the successful implementation of key projects related to corrupt money flows, including the Global Anti-Corruption Consortium (GACC) and the Strengthened Enforcement Capacities of Public Authorities (STEP EU). The Thematic Lead will identify funding opportunities to advance TI’s evidence-based advocacy work.
